I started porting those Counter-Strike Global Offensive player models, have started from player models.

Valve uses a different skeleton with these models since the default hl2 animations wont motion transfer over.

Extracting the .mdl's wont work if you use the default cannonfodder's mdl decompiler.

I just so happen to own the beta as well and I can confirm that the mdldecompiler works, you just have to put idst, at the beginning of the model file, and rename (+copy) the .vtxes to .dx80.vtx and .dx90.vtx.
The textures themselves cannot be read by the newest version of vtfedit, strangely enough, you instead have to download paint.net for free and get the more recent vtf-plugin which supports vtf version 7.5. I can upload some of the weapons and players for you if you want.

Why are you linking these? these are copyrighted by Valve and distribution is not permitted. At least link them in a pm :rolleyes:

Curious, is the skeleton the same size as the normal hl2 or css biped? If yes it should be a fairly straighforward thing to replace them with it.

Uhm, yes it has. Not to the wide public, but yes it has. "Not released" would mean it wasn't released at all and the models were hacked straight from Valve or some shit. But yeah, the game is out, just in beta testing form.
