This is what is in the sb folder by the way.
are the VMT files properly pointing towards the right VTFs in the right location? make sure it's set at VertexlitGeneric, too, not LightmappedGeneric.

Big thanks they are Lightmapped. Will report back when changed to Vertex.

Open up your reference smd in notepad++ or something.
If you keep scrolling down you'll eventually see something like,

First back up your smd,
Find the spot where texturename.tga is It might be something else like Material_75 or something, if that is the case, replace all instances with undead_Body.png (extension doesn't matter). Since you have 2 materials, keep scrolling down until you find the next one Material_85 or w/e then replace that one with undead_hair00_01_hd.png
If they're swapped, roll back to your backup smd and repeat the process, except make Material_75 -> undead_hair00_01_hd.png and Material_85 -> undead_Body.png
