• [RELEASE] FF Model #1

Since i will quit modding shortly, i am currently preparing some of my models for release as gmod modelpacks. First one is a hd model from Cinematic mod 11.50, loosely based on the portuguese model Sara Sampaio. Its a highpoly model (polycount 106520) with large textures for maximum details, very useful for close ups. It comes with separate bodygroups for headset and glasses. Fileinfo: 85 MB 7zip archive Download: https://rapidshare.com/files/3394716369/GM_FF_SAMPAIO.7z Hope, someone will find it useful. Why quit??? You do such a great job! D:
Nice model
Agreed. Sure, there are Pro-FF and Anti-FF guys, but I'm totally a fan from your work and I enjoyed every FF Revision/Version so far. Maybe, one day, Valve will release a highly updated SourceSDK with new code for SRC2009 or higher. A FakeFactory Cinematic Mod based on the then "newest" engine with even more graphical enhancements and more polysgons (if possible) would be awesome.
The model looks pretty good imo.
oh no, ff is on facepunch tbh, the only "model" of yours I like a bit are those combine soldiers.
So are you quitting for real this time?
The model looks really really good, good job with it. However I don't play HL2 to find sexy bitches in it, it would have been nice if it was for something more... natural y'know.

I like his stuff, but it's not Half-Life. At all. As a "HL2 HD pack", it didn't really work for me. But GMod is more detached from Half-Life, it doesn't need to follow the same style. Besides, HL2 doesn't really need an HD remake quite yet. Especially since they keep upgrading the engine it's on, adding HDR and all that.
Is it just me, or are the textures for the eyelashes missing in the uploaded archive? EDIT: There is a wrong path in the VMT from the eyelashes texture:
//"UnlitGeneric" "VertexLitGeneric" { "$bumpmap" "models/GM_FF_Models/dyn_normal" "$translucent" 1 "$basetexture" "models/V500_KENDRA/Lashes" "$model" 1 "$nocull" 1 //"$alphatest" 1 //"$nofog" 1 }
basetexture should be models/GM_FF_Models/Lashes EDIT 2: I really love this model. Downloading FakeFactory Cinematic Mod Update 11.50 right now. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.
Third time quiting eh?
So are you quitting for real this time?
one can only hope
The model looks amazing in detail. Got to have this.
Nice work, the up close model reminds me of Billie Piper for some reason...
the eyelash texture is missing
Here is a fix http://filesmelt.com/dl/Lashes.vmt Goes to garrysmod\garrysmod\materials\models\GM_FF_Models

Oh if only.
Not too bad, Fakefactory. I guess your stuff could be used in Source Filmmaker someday
Thanks for sharing this and Great job.
I can't believe how many assholes are around here. FF is pushing the Source engine to its limits with every new version of CM. Those models are a nice little bonus and are OPTIONAL. The texture work alone on those is outstanding. If you don't like them. Fine. But don't act so rude to one of the modders who's been busy the last few years, keeping source up to date.
God, you people are so stuck-up and disrespectful. He releases something that actually doesn't look bad and you guys still throw shit at him.

Excuse me if I'm looking at the wrong thread or something but there's been far more positive comments than negative here, you're both blowing reactions way out of proportion. Prior to TheMask's comment, I counted
10 positive 7 not giving their opinion on the model or the mod, irrelevant-ish stuff/positive+negative,neutral 3 negative
[editline]e[/editline] Can you elaborate on how this is 'late'? I'm not viewing this in the same perspective as you, clearly.
the model and textures themselves are good, but both this model and the mod it belongs to are extremely unrealistic. I mean, you wouldn't want to be running around in a bright red jumpsuit when you're trying to go unseen in a dystopian wasteland, it's incredibly conspicuous and impractical.
Regarding the negative flow towards FF over the years. I dislike TF2. The hats thing is bloody retarded. Now if I was to seek out threads related to the game and spew out my opinions on it, what would you guys think of me? Not much is my safe bet. Why? Because you would use reasoning. If I dislike the game, the hats, the trade and the hysteria, I do not need to download it. I do not need to use it. It present no problems or issues for me. You will also tell me to shut my trap and develop some sense because you have zero interest in listening to my rant on a game I decided to hate. And you would also point out that it is free, like CM is. Think about that for a moment. And no one has ever releases anything here looking as good as this model. Ever! Period! The finger and posing capability could be better, but it was made for CM, not for posing. Still fully usable.
if VALVe had a community manager on FP who could listen to your criticism and improve TF2 for the better, would you not take any chance available to inform him of the problems you had with it in order to make for a better game, one you would like to play? FakeFactory is much like said community manager, only the product is Cinematic Mod rather than TF2. criticism is what carves good mods out of wood. [editline]September 17th[/editline] I mean, you could go on being flawed under the excuse that it's free so I can't criticize it... but don't say I wasn't there to help, and don't say it's anybody's fault but your own for not listening and being unwilling to suck it up and improve.
FakeFactory is much like said community manager, only the product is Cinematic Mod rather than TF2. criticism is what carves good mods out of wood.
Quite so! But I think FF said that CM was or started out as a personal project and it was based on his personal taste. How it got public I am unsure of, but he did say if you do not approve of his taste, don't use it. I for one applaud anyone sharing free stuff. That is the backbone of a good community.

I'm not really a fan of scantly clad models, but wow that facemap looks really good.
I'm not really a fan of scantly clad models, but wow that facemap looks really good.
you can see where all the different skin samples have been cut and pasted, and blended into eachother looks bad
