• Castlevania?

Hello. First of all, I'm new this is my first post, so on and so forth. I'd love to give back to this great community one day, but I've been trying and failing at making game content for a very long time, from Doom (which I did reasonably well with) to Unreal Tournament (where I spent years trying to make a basic player model, managed to make a static object for the player model in Milkshape, and could never find anybody to tell me how to animate it, giving up around 2006 when the only help I could find was "Everybody has moved on to 2k4"), maybe I'll make something decent for Garry's Mod one day. :/ As it stands, I'm not very talented, so I'm going to make the first of what is, hopefully, not too many requests. I'll apologize in advance here, for whatever reason the search function doesn't seem to be working. I'm assuming it's the same for everybody, but in case it's not, I didn't search because I can't. That's probably not much of a problem, as I can't really find ANY Castlevania material. What I'd love most is a ragdoll of Simon Belmont. Specifically, the model I have in mind is the one from "Dream Mix TV", an import PS2 game. This one should be "relatively" easy, since there's a detailed character model in existence, which can probably be ripped from the game. The same is true for Trevor Belmont, Leon Belmont, Hector, 'Classic' Simon, and a whole slew of supporting characters, villains, props, and maps to be had from "Lament of Innocence", "Curse of Darkness", and the Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania courses in "Evolution Skateboarding". Castlevania is primarily a 2D series, so unfortunately a lot of characters, like Alucard, Soma, and Shanoa would require MUCH more work. But, there's a lot of good stuff just waiting to be ripped from the PS2 games, and I'd love to see somebody rise to the challenge of doing that. :) That's all I've got to say right now. Thank you for listening.
Hello. First of all, read the sticky on the forum. Make sure you have reference images to provide. Also, you don't have to introduce yourself since most of the community won't care (not ALL, but most).
Well, I read the sticky, as I'd like to avoid being banned or being a general nuisance. You didn't copy the first four words of my post to mock me, did you? :/ As far as I can tell, I followed the guidelines, aside from searching (the "Sorry, this type of search is disabled until we get a nice fast slave database up and running." error). I described resources of where the models of these characters can be found, but I didn't put any pictures. I didn't see any pictures on a lot of the other requests, so I guess I kind of overlooked that... I figured the names of the games, the systems they are on, and the names of the characters would suffice, but I can provide some pictures to clarify. Here is the source of the following images (except the first one) of Simon Belmont from DreamMix TV World Fighters on PS2 and Gamecube: http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gamedb/softinfo/wfight/html/chara/simo.html The first picture is just artwork. This is the red-haired Simon design introduced in "Castlevania Chronicles", which is what I'd like. The screenshots are a bit small and zoomed out, it's Simon in a standing pose, using his whip, and throwing a large cross, the sort of things you'd expect from a vampire hunter. This short clip shows a more detailed look at him in motion, on the Castlevania stage of the game: http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gamedb/softinfo/wfight/html/chara/wmv/simo.html This is what I want most. I'm not sure how easy it would be to rip the model from this game, or to find it in the first place. The model looks a little low-detail, as it was made for a party game (unfortunately, there aren't a lot of options as far as pre-existing 3D models are concerned) but it should be nice. I've never gotten a good look at his facial details, as I haven't been able to play the game myself, and there are few pictures and videos. Work might be necessary if it's really bad. The leftmost picture should help if a texture is needed for the face. I'm willing help as much as I can and provide more resources as needed. This is Trevor Belmont from "Castlevania: Curse of Darkness" on PS2 and Xbox: This game, as well as "Castlevania: Lament of Innocence", has cutscenes and detailed character models, as it's a third-person action game similar to Devil May Cry. Ideally, I'd like to see just about everything from these two games used as ragdolls, props, and maps, for a full-on Garry's Mod Castlevania set, provided there is enough interest in the idea for people to want to work on such a project. Again, I don't know the ease of ripping all the necessary content from PS2 and Xbox games and putting it together. There is a lot of stuff in both of these games. As far as maps go, it'd be nice to have at least one to go with the ragdoll(s). The area of Rinaldo's house and the "hub" part of the castle in Lament of Innocence would be a good choice. The house of Rinaldo Gandolfi. Leon pictured at center. Here are some low-res samples of character art from Lament of Innocence (LoI) and Curse of Darkness (CoD): In addition, here are some of the most popular characters in the series. Unfortunately, there aren't really any good 3D character models to base these on. Alucard, Shanoa, and Richter look very different in "Castlevania Judgment" and "Dracula X Chronicles". With only artwork and small 2D sprites as references, they'd probably have to be completely done from the ground up, and would probably be much more work. I don't know, I don't really have any experience in this sort of field. Hopefully this will help anybody interested in doing this. If there's any other Castlevania fans here, feel free to speak up. After all, it's more likely that somebody will want to make Castlevania content if there are a bunch of people who would actually want it and use it.
I'm a castlevania fan too, and I requested some models from this series last year, but my request got mostly ignored... I managed to extract the textures from the characters in castlevania judgement, but I couldn't get the actual models because my converter crashed everytime I tried to do that :(
^ Yeah. I've noticed from reading various comments that, generally speaking, this community isn't exactly, well... very fond of Japanese games and anime, to say the least. The stuff that is here, most of it gets a lot of hateful responses from people who can't seem to realize that not everybody has to like the same things. I figured it was worth a try. We'll see how it goes this time, Vert092, but yeah. There's no Castlevania stuff on garrysmod.org, and like Sonic and Mario, I think it might've happened by now if there was a huge demand. Maybe it'd be good to contact people on Castlevania fansites and forums. There's probably a good chunk of Castlevania fans who only play consoles and don't even know Garry's Mod exists, and would probably care a lot more if they knew they could have Castlevania characters to mess around with. :P

I mean, they look "too unrealistic" compared to models from other games, like half life or even brawl. But the castlevania art is different, it's more ralistic, and some models like that Trevor would fit perfectly in gmod.
I for one think it would be cool as hell if someone made some Castlevania models, they'd have my props(respect). I say to hell with whoever doesn't like foreign videogame characters, if I had the know-how to make Castlevania ragdolls, I'd do it myself.
There is no "foreign" in internets. Or at least not in the same sense as in phyiscal world. Check some tutorials and start modeling, good luck.
Milkshape 3D is the best modeling program and they give you a free trial for 30 days after that you can't save the model and then you have to pay for the full verion.
Milkshape 3D is the best modeling program
Apparently Milkshape 3d is for low-poly modeling, so I wouldn't say that.
Apparently Milkshape 3d is for low-poly modeling, so I wouldn't say that.
Depends what your modelling, Milkshape more made for animating but it's perfectly serviceable for modelling aswell ^^
I tried using Milkshape, but it's too hard for me to use. v_v

Well, it looks like this will never get done. v_v
I dunno maybe you can use this Alucard? http://wc3r.forumcircle.com/viewtopic.php?t=200
Is someone doing this? Just asking
[img_thumb]http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b112/JuggleClown/Request/Simon.png[/img_thumb]
Haha-wait thats a DUDE?
Alright, this does not look like it's getting ANYWHERE! Is anyone even making anything from Castlevania for gmod?
I'm afraid not.
Well, this is sad day. If I could make these things myself I would, but unfortunately, I just can not afford programs that cost 3,000+ dollars.
What do you mean? Oh, 3ds max
