Hello, first post here. Hope I'm doing this right. D:
I'm looking for models of Sheik (from either SSBM or SSBB) and/or Vanessa from PN 03 (I know obscure game).
I don't need them rigged or have them be ragdolls or anything special. Hell, I don't even really need their textures. I just need a .3ds or an .obj so I can load the models up into 3DSMax and look at how they're constructed. I need to build a rather flexible model for a school project, and was hoping to look at actual game models to get an idea of how it's done.
I have already looked around for these rips already with no luck, so if they've already been done I'm sorry for the repeat request!
I appreciate any help!

However, Shiek is in GMod format - you'll need to get MDLDecompiler and the 3DSMax .SMD plugin to import it into your editor.
I did find that Sheik earlier, I was hoping had one that was already in 3ds/obj format floating around. I've never really done anything like this before.
I found those tools you mentioned, so I'll give them a shot.
EDIT: Ok, so I got the MDLDecompiler and I got an .smd of the model now. But the only plugins I found on the website for the .smd importer are for 3DSMax 2012 or 2010 and older, while I have 2011. I just tried the 2012 plugins and 3DS wouldn't even boot. I'll try the 2010 ones but I don't expect the results to be any different. Anyone know if there's a 2011 compatible plugin? I have 64 bit 3DSMax. And yes, I've been trying the 64bit plugins. I get errors when 3DS is starting up with them.
Nevermind! Found a working plugin.

Could you possibly give me a link to where that is?
If you have XNALara, you can export the model in .obj format. Here's a link to the model...
