No icons for my NPCS

Howdy,
I've got a couple of new npcs to work in gmod (my first). Only problem so far is that icons won't generate for them. I imagine I've got something named wrong. What file names need to match up for icons to generate?

NPC icons don't generate themselves, you have to make them.

I see. I thought it was optional to make a custom vtf. Thanks very much!
