I've actually been interested in grabbing some of the content from this game and porting it over to GMod. Some of the tools and equipment would be useful as props, and the base parts would be great for scene building. From what I've looked into, the game apparently runs on the Unity engine, though which version it uses is something I have yet to find out.

It's on Unity 4, if my research is correct.
If it runs on Unity 4 or a derivitive of it, then the tools that are available for extracting from the Unity engine should still be functional with Subnautica's files. I'll look into grabbing the tools I used before and see if it they've updated it to have support for Unity 4 builds. I wouldn't mind assisting with this.
The devs previously worked on Source Mods before they became big, so I think they'd be pretty supportive of porting some of their stuff to Gmod if you got in contact with them.
So Source and Unity are probably compatible, now that begs the question.
Can we port the water too?
But seriously, is there any way to build something under water in gmod, and not have to swim your way across a floor?
I thought that this was something that can never be changed because the way the source engine is, but could it?
Bumping because is there anyone even remotely interested in porting Subnautica models?
