Need Black ops 3 colored textures for Specialist Characters [PAID WORK]
9 replies, posted
Hi all ,
I need someone to extract the textures for the specialist characters in black ops 3. There is already a thread that has models, but a lot of the textures are black and white (some have correct colors).
If anyone could find extract the proper textures (normal, spec, color, diffuse etc) for all the specialists i will pay them the equivalent of 10 dollars via paypal..
Most important is that the textures that should have color are extracted. If they don't exist (I assume they do, but not 100% sure), i won't be coughing up any cash so just fair warning for anyone who
is considering attempting this.
For example, the Firebreak character's body texture that i have now looks like image below which is unusable.
If you need any further info just drop a comment here :)

I think I can do something with it, but I need to check some files. I didn't worked with MP characters too much.

Awesome, feel free to pm me if you make any progress
That's one of the specular masks. You need to crack open the files and look for the diffuse textures. If all else fails, ninjaripper is your friend.

Apologies my knowledge of texturing isn't great but
Even the diffuse textures are black and white. It's quite strange. .
When he means crack open the files he means open the XPAKS, find the skin you want, and rip them. In-game the model IS white, the game just applies the skin over it, hence why when you gib one of the characters sometimes they turn white, it's reverting to that texture you see.

This is exactly why i need someone how knows what they're doing to help me as i've no idea about rippoing textures.
And will glady pay someone who manages to do it :)

Actually, this is diffuse texture.
All textures assigned to that same material and how use them (in Source Engine at least):
C (diffuse (basetexture)):

S (can't confirm, probably phong + it's required sometimes as part of a diffuse):

G (can't confirm, probably phong):

N (normalmap (bumpmap)):

Mask (probably used to change colors):

Well that is bizarre.

This guy pretty much nailed it. Also yeah, second one is specular although it sometimes has to be overlayed on the diffuse so the texture isn't pitch black.
Porting over the specialists would be less tedious if there was an RGB reference on how to use the mask texture, or if they just had the colors already on the diffuse.
