getting really tired of these. at this point there's like 40 pilotable pelican entities, they'll only be worthwhile once the nacelles move [editline]4th July 2011[/editline] you didn't even bother putting the wingtip vapor trails in the right place. you consider this model-swap release worthy?
sillirion not sillicon, update your neuroplanes svn again

And theres only one other entity even close to a pelican. Try it in-game before you troll. If you don't like it don't fucking download it.
ERROR FIXED please update your svn, DO NOT post older version of the svn thank you
Wrong section. This isn't LUA.

This is not the appropriate section, actually if I was you, I wouldn't bother posting it anywhere.

This pelican is in it's beta version. There are still many things that need to be fixed on it. I just updated the code this-morning and fixed a couple things. Please try not to put me down, I worked hard on this. Not to mention the people who worked hard on the model. [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
?
Yeah it usually looks crappy from that angle.. I'm going to fix it. [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
Wrong section. This isn't LUA.
I wasn't sure whether to put it in lua or models/skins, because it includes the fixed model from beat the zombie that Sillirion fixed.

You need to at least have the pelican to look closely to what the original looks like and to have the original bones from halo 3 so that the landing gear can be put down when hovering a certain height above the ground and put back in when flying. Because in Halo Custom Edition it works like that even on the Halo CE pelican. Having the doors on the halo 3 pelican to open and close when the landing gear moves is overkill but optional. That halo 3 pelican model desperately needs an env-map on the glass. Having actual thruster effects like in all the halos is also possible to achieve in source.

I'm releasing it for people to try it out and send me bug reports at my email. I'm going to continue working on it so it ISNT finished yet. Just hold on, It's not like i'm going to leave it like this. The pelican is still a pretty good piece of work, I got the movement pretty well and that's all I was really worrying about at the moment. Like I said. Try to be more understanding. Don't criticize me on the model. I didn't create the model so I shouldn't be taking the blame for it. I honestly don't see the problems you are with the windshield. I 've been planning to make the landing gear move down and all of this. But I'm running into some major problems with it :/
I don't know.

I posted it here so people can click a link and it'll be right there. And it'll be much easier to update.
At least animate it. That's the biggest problem with all these pilotable entities. And I swear is it has no sound..
At least animate it. That's the biggest problem with all these pilotable entities. And I swear is it has no sound..
It has sound but I am not really worrying about the animations yet, in the near future I may add them in. Thanks.
I removed the trails and edited some more things in the script. Now I'm going to try to find some animations for it.
I agree, this goes into the LUA forum, this is not JUST a model, it's an entity. entities have their own little sub-forum, and it's not part of the model forum.

I'll ask a moderator next time. [editline]6th July 2011[/editline] Thanks for all the dumb ratings everyone. Glad to see you appreciate that I took time out of my day to create this for the community. I bet none of you even bothered to try this in-game.
Most of the dumb ratings comes from people that hate halo and partly what I explained above.
No, wrong, most of the dumb ratings come from people who hate people like AntiSaint changing the model line and calling it theirs.
No, wrong, most of the dumb ratings come from people who hate people like AntiSaint changing the model line and calling it theirs.
Did he really just change the model from some halo ce pelican model that someone else coded?
Did he really just change the model from some halo ce pelican model that someone else coded?
neuroplanes model swap
neuroplanes model swap
Excuse me? I didn't just change the model. I wrote a TON of that code. Did you even compare it?
Excuse me? I didn't just change the model. I wrote a TON of that code. Did you even compare it?
So if you wrote a "TON" of code, what exactly did you change? Was your additional scripting so important that you couldn't be bothered to change or add a couple of vectors to the wingtip trails' position? So important that you couldn't include a changelog or at least credit Hoffa for his work? Beat The Zombie's model is pretty neat, and it's nice of you to share, but you need a little humility to release anything, especially if you use someone else's code.

I only made it compatible with his weapons.
ok [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] tldr: "i dont have the skills to animate it and i dont want to admit it so heres my excuse for never actually doing it" [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] if you can provide any proof that you are actually capable of animating the pelican realistically and accurately to the one in halo i will take back everything i said and admit what a great big faggot i am
ok [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] tldr: "i dont have the skills to animate it and i dont want to admit it so heres my excuse for never actually doing it" [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] if you can provide any proof that you are actually capable of animating the pelican realistically and accurately to the one in halo i will take back everything i said and admit what a great big faggot i am
It would have been easy to animate once I had my friend rig it correctly, then I would get the animations done from another friend, after that is finished I could easily animate it. Code example I could use: ENT.AutomaticFrameAdvance = true local sequence = self:LookupSequence("idle") if ( self:WaterLevel() > -10 ) then self:SetSequence("idle") //If "idle" was the landing gear "lowering" animation, at - 10 "WaterLevel" (10 ft above water level) the gear would lower.
Er... evidently you're not quite clear on how Entity.WaterLevel works. It just returns an integer between 0 and 3 depending on the entity's position, and won't even return 2 for non-player entities. Thus, your condition will always return true. Also, you forgot to close your if statement and note that the back half of your code goes into Entity.Think.
