• Need help converting models to source engine
    0 replies, posted
So, i'm trying to convert models from XNAlara to the source engine (for personal use in SFM) with 3ds Max 2013, but after 7 frustrating hours of following tutorials and downloading all kind of stuff that should be needed, I'm still not much closer to getting them to the source engine. I dont want all those hours to be wasted so I post this as my last resort. It is also my first time doing this kind of stuff, so I may not get everything at first. I use the XnaLara Import/Export script from mariokart64n to get the models into 3dsmax with bones and all. I choose for example Ryu from street fighter 4. At this point I'm not sure what to do to prepare it for the source engine. I did found out about this plugin called Wall Worm, that should be able to export models out of 3ds Max to be compatible with the source engine, but so far it gives me errors. When I try to export the VTF's it gives me the message "-- Unable to convert: undefined to type: FileName" and some notepad like message (Wich I can copy and paste if needed but its kinda big.) And when i try to export the model, it says it cant find the procedure SpewActivate in DLL-file tier0.dll. Can anyone help me and tell me what else needs to be done? Like I said, i'm new on this area so please go easy on me if I'm doing something obviously wrong.
