• high poly model compiling for source engine?

i see some models in source that are very high poly, for source filmmaker. guistudiomdl usually doesnt work well with very high poly models, so i'm a bit confused as to how these models got in source in the first place. this is also frustrating when i want to edit already made models, but the high poly count doesnt allow me to compile my edited version. so how does one end up compiling high poly models into source, when guistudiomdl doesnt allow it?
try Fakefactory's Studiomdl?
try Fakefactory's Studiomdl?
His Studiomdl is packaged with his "cinematic" mod, so unless you actually want it, your gonna have to find which .dll files are required to run the program and extract it from the mod itself. And it's also a huge download, so expect to be waiting for a while.
Try using the SFM version of studiomdl.dll vs. the EP2/gmod version. I've found you'll hat some backwards compatibility with gmod though, if that's your target. Since steampipe, you can find any source game's version of all the tools in the '../common/*game*/bin' subdirectory
