• Mass Effect: Andromeda Models?

Out of curiosity, has anyone gotten models (characters, weapons, props, etc) from ME:A yet? Yeah I know the game isn't exactly the greatest, but I still think people could find a lot of use in the models.
Hopefully won't take too long if there is enough interest, seeing as how people have been ripping from frostbite for a while
I know I'd definitely be interested in ME:A models. Playing that game has already had me downloading all the Mass Effect content already out for Garry's Mod and hoarding it. Hopefully it won't be a long wait for Andromeda stuff.
I'd honestly be surprised if half the models weren't exactly the same as they were in older games. A lot of the returning weapons and species look too exact to be remakes, which is funny since I was sure the switch to Frostbite would force them to update their assets. That and a lot of the new stuff like the angara and some of the new armor does not match up in quality.
Well, as someone who models for pay, why remake something you've already made?
The only thing I could notice was the textures looked better, and I'm pretty sure they're using PBR. The models do look almost the same as ME3, but it honestly looks fine IMO. Looking forward to the new weapons though, even though all the Remnant weapons function like Prothean ones from ME3.

They are vastly more detailed than in ME2/ME3. Due to a serious mistake, the Andromeda models for the Carnifex, Katana, Black Widow, and Avenger can actually be downloaded from the Mass Effect website, if you know where they get stored. And yes, they are a lot more detailed than the models from ME2/ME3. For example, the Carnifex went from around 3k triangles in ME3 to about 12k in Andromeda. Those will need to be taken directly from ME:A. Unless someone wants to try making them from scratch. I can post links to the files if people want them.
I found these guys working on it; https://zenhax.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3971&start=20 I'd imagine it being a Frostbite engine would help cut the time down. I personally would be interest in a map rip of the Tempest.
I ripped off the turian soldier from multiplayer and rigged it. However, the face was fucked up. Either way, the model works fine with decent vertices and polys.

There definitely are some reused models in the game from the original series, but it seems like it's mostly background stuff and misc. items. People would probably interested more in the characters and aliens and so on anyway.
A lot of the models people are thinking are re-used seem completely re-made, to me. The only actual re-used models I've seen are some minor environment props, like the paperwork on people's desks. If porting tools become available, I might port some of the guns, just for old times' sake. I'm still annoyed that most of my favorite guns from ME2/3 didn't make the transition to Andromeda.
So using ninja ripper to grab Vetra's model didn't go as well as anticipated when it got to her face  I don't even.....

There's also what looks like a salarian and something else.

No other UV's were present when i examined them in the UV window.
Is scenery items coming out odd as well? or just models that have bone rigging?
Is scenery items coming out odd as well? or just models that have bone rigging?
I went down the list as i was trying to find certain meshes and from what i was able to observe this is the only model that has come out deformed. I have yet to try this on a male turian however.

Her lower mandibles are mounted on her temple. The distortion makes her look like a Kett.
Her lower mandibles are mounted on her temple. The distortion makes her look like a Kett.
It almost looks like it's a kett model using a turian texture by mistake. What hath God wrought.
Hello, could you to extract the TEMPEST ship from Mass Effect Andromeda in obj format and textures please ? Thanks a lot.

Interior would be nice, honestly for time and effort savings I wouldn't mind getting anything in the messy unorganized texture file that NR gives you and organize it myself.
It almost looks like it's a kett model using a turian texture by mistake. What hath God wrought.
What happens in Andromeda, stays in Andromeda.
Mass Effect Andromeda have so amazing environment models like rocks, cliffs, plants. Why in every game people always ripping/extracting characters? :D
Tis easier by far, rather than getting everything in the environment. Plus, environments are a LOT more expensive ram wise.
Besides, I don't know bout you, but I just wanna get my hands on dem' Turians. Because reasons.

Edit to avoid a double post, playing around with the colors and the pattern in the color editor, i think i was able to get a convincing UCP pattern. :D

Very interesting post here. I found it while looking for Andromeda models... I tried the ninja ripper, with no success U.u Does anyone have the Pathfinder helmet model? The one that uses Alec Ryder. I tried to run the ninjaripper and extract it from the game... but I can't even run the game with the ripper :(
