It'd be nice to have the models/maps from this stupid-ass game to mess around with in GMod/SFM, and it's a Source engine game so you probably wouldn't have to do any crazy re-rigging/dumping of GPU memory or whatever.
Here's what I know from loose poking around so far:
The maps are loose files, they're no problem.
The FPK files are just ZIP files, they seem to just contain, you know, UI stuff. Nothing of interest.
Everything else is in FPX files, which seem at a glance to be similar to VPKs, but different enough that GCFScape won't load them. If we can get those open, we should be home free.
Sadly, I'm not really sure where to start since I'm not exactly programmer material. Any ideas?
Eureka! I've figured it out!

1.) Copy all the FPX files into a different folder somewhere - don't want to break the original game, now do we?
2.) Change the file extension on them all into .VPK
3.) Change data_001_fdr into data_001_dir
4.) Open up data_001_dir in a hex editor and change the first five... bytes? to 34 12 AA 55 01
5.) Open in GCFScape, extract at leisure.
Hopefully I haven't missed a step! The maps don't seem to load though, at least not in SFM.

Is it normal for GCFScape to start freezing up/hanging when extracting from data_001_dir? It's been sitting there for about 3 minutes without doing anything.
Those kneepads are eerily higher quality than the rest of the model.

the textures look so weirdly realistic it's super jarring. i'm willing to bet the actual kneepad model sucks but the textures are taken from a high-quality photo or something
Wow are those models a joke? I can really believe someone is passing stuff that looks like it belongs into goldSRC as a new game really.
