I followed this tutorial and it worked out great: http://www.republicofcode.com/tutorials/3ds/unwrap_uvw_mapping/ i followed the instructions to the letter and so far so good. the only problem i have is. i took apart the gun model i'm working on, in 3ds max, one at a time, object by object. my gun model has two barrels. so, i applied uvwrap modifier to both barrels separately. selected the faces carefully and then went to the parameters rollout and hit EDIT. this successfully got the Edit UVW map window opened up. my question is: when i went to apply unwrap uvw modifier on the second barrel of my gun and selected the faces of it carefully and did the same thing to the second barrel of my gun, applied the uvwrap modifier, went to the parameters rollout and hit EDIT... ANOTHER edit uvw map window opened up. with my second gun barrel uvw wrap on it. my first gun barrel uvw wrap was gone. how do i get my first AND second gun barrel uvw wrap on the SAME Edit UVW Map window???
You have to select both barrels at the same time D: At least with blender, I don't know about 3ds max, because I'm not a pirate.
You have to select both barrels at the same time D: At least with blender, I don't know about 3ds max, because I'm not a pirate.
sh*t. thanks, my friend. it does make sense, tho. its too bad i can't 'import' all my individually uvw wrapped objects all into one EDIT UVW map window.
