i want to know, i know it is possible due to seeing halo 3,odst and reach models in gmod, but i cant find a tutorial anywhere.
(i would prefer a method that doesnt involve breaking my 360 though)
You can't! The models from Halo are ported from PC versions of the game.
You can't rip without modding your Xbox, as far as I'm aware. The programs that access the games and its files need unfettered access to the inner workings, something a vanilla Xbox seemingly will not provide.
Just wait for the people who know what they're doing to do it, you wannabe.

No they are not...
Because Bungie have never released PC versions of halo 3, halo 3 odst and halo reach.
You can't port 360 models. In order to do that, there has to be a 360 emulator, which isn't the case. I've heard that you may be able to with a 360 dev kit, but since those are extremely hard to find, and extremely expensive, good luck trying to get it working.
However, if you are an experienced coder with a lot of time, you might be able to reverse-engineer the file formats, and write your own renderer on the PC. From there, you could rip it. However, those are engine-specific, and the only engines I know of that can be used (so far) are the Unreal engine and the Halo 3 engine.
Like I said, though, you'd need to be a VERY skilled programmer to get it done. Has almost nothing to do with modelling.

There is a bunch of people with the finished working stuff but what those got are different in many ways.
He will not get one of those "tools" not even the place where the maps and stuff gets downloaded for file extraction.
You're better off doing imitations.
I know it is possible...
This is made with models from halo 3 and ODST:

O O O O O O O O O my mod someone posted it on here OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lol, but to get on topic it's only possible to rip halo stuff because someone takes the time to make the tools and rip the .map files from an ISO of the game......., ripping models from games like ( wait hell i don't know what games are on the xbox 360 other thin halo and gears of wars that's exclusive since i hate the xbox) and both GOW and Halo are able to have models ripped from them
ALSO don't revive a thread that's almost a year old if you wanna talk about like that ask in the halo thread
I'm working on the exclusive outfits only available on crap-box 360 for Dead Rising 2:

I need a goddamn deswizzler for textures, I've had no luck with over a month of searching for one that works with .tex files.
What about original Xbox models? I've been wanting the Conker Live & Reloaded models for quit some time now. How would people go about ripping those, and how much would someone charge for the service of extracting them into gmod?
I think it has to be an offline xbox, not connected to XBL, and it has to be severely modded
that's all i know
