Hello,
I'm a complete newbie on modelling, I've maybe touched 3DS max sometime in the past and know how to make spheres and boxes.
My question though is. I got some models from Black Mesa Source I'd like to use, the "problem" with these are that male scientist is only ONE model, with several bodygroups which makes them look different.
The question is. Is it possible to decompile/do something with this model to split it up into individual models? Like a separate model for each male?
How hard would this be to do? Should I attempt to do it myself, or rather hire someone?
If you wonder why on earth I want to do it, it's because simply Clockwork doesn't support body group models in their character creation which makes things not so cool. So this is the solution to use those models on my server, and I need them individually.
Each bodygroup of a model is a separate .smd before compiling/after decompiling.
.smd files are your basic model file for source before compiling into a format usable by the game.
I recommend looking up some tutorials on compiling/decompiling models and try it yourself.

Thank you. Which programs could be used for compile/decompile?
mdldecompiler|crowbar for the decompile and studioMDL for the the compile (you'll find the latter in most /bin/ directories of source games)
