• CS:GO player models

Hi there, I'm personally not into modeling, hence the topic. I was wondering if there is a sticky topic or other central resource where player models that are compatible with CS:GO are listed. I've been a couple of them for CS:S on gamebanana and such but I am unaware if these are usable right away. People have been asking Valve to implement new player models into maps for ages, but it's not that hard to do so for mappers, hence I was wondering if there are any besides the non-realstic ones like Alien, Master Chief, etc. on some minigames servers. Excuse me for being unknowing, I'm here to learn :)
The CS:GO models use a slightly different bone structure than CS:S, so they're not compatible. You could decompile the CS:GO player models and make your own replacements - though might be a difficult route if you don't want to go through learning all of that. There's also these shitty Payday/masked robber hacks I did but they're not set up for serverside models like the ones you download from matches or S-low's site, and I believe I left them as replacements for existing playermodels so you'd have to get them as new models if you wanted to include them in a custom map's kv file.
Thanks for the info! I wasn't even aware that models need anything special to be run on servers. So as it stands, there is no central topic for CS:GO models, nor do there seem to be any proper working ones either ;o?
There's a CS:GO mod thread, but 98% of it is weapon camouflage skins. I think there's three ways of doing playermodels for CSGO: a) Replacing existing players, only you will see them/whoever else downloads it b) Having them as new models but using plugins on your server to select them (this is what S-LoW's models are mainly designed for, CS 1.6/CSS did this as well - other players will see them if they download the models from the server) c) Having them as new models but including them in a custom map and a custom KV file for the map (I've never actually tried this but there's no reason it shouldn't work - downside to this is that you'd only be able to be these playermodels in the specific map that they're included with but everybody who downloads the map should see them)
I was indeed planning on implementing new models into maps that I'm working on. Reason for this is that I like the fact that servers can enjoy a map 100% without having to depend on a server. I've noticed the thread you linked, I simply cannot be bothered looking through thousands of weapon skins that I'm not interested it to find the few player models there are, hence I asked if there was any central topic for these or not.
Most of the ones on S-Low's site are crap that KnifeLemon made. All he did was recompile CS:S models with CS:GO animations, which does not end well because the skeleton is so different. Don't download any of his shit, it is a waste of time. I made like 3 girl models, don't know if they are of any use to you, but you can find them here: http://s-low.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=64 Just look for the threads I started. Kuristaja made a couple in the Male section, he did them right.
