• Mirrors Edge Source: Trailer Map

I was incredibly impressed by the visual aspects and gameplay so I set out to recreate it in the Source Engine. In the media section of this mod page you can see how the mod is looking currently. For now only the first map that was shown in the first trailer will be recreated. This will most likely change after I recieve the game and can work in greater detail on the map. I did all of the modelling and mapping by sight while pausing the trailer in parts that I was working on. This mod was created by one person. While working on it it has helped me to learn more about how all the parts of a game come together and helped to increase my skills in modelling,mapping and texturing. It has also been a hell of a lot of fun! Currently the mod is still in it's early stages, and only contains the map, no scripting of the ducking and jumping as of yet. Comments are very welcome. So how is it working out for everyone?
It looks great compared, but the lighting needs to be whiter and a lot brighter.

I'm working on decals with slight cubemapping so that you can still a reflection of sorts, but not awesome mirrors

Those custom textures need it!

This is really cool looking. When I first saw ME's trailer I remarked how the lighting model looked really similar to that of Source.
That's because source will naturally do some degree of ambient occlusion. You can improve it by turning the lightmap resolution up.
Is this even to be coded to run around like Mirrors Edge?

OH MY GOD I WANT THIS SOOO BAD!! Is it really possible to have all the jumping and the really cool effects? Is it even possible to fit a level in Source? I think the map is over the limits. Also, are these custom textures?
Phong shader can only be applies on model unless you do some heavy coding yourself.

Looking better, all I can think of now is add some detail to the more far away buildings and get a good skybox.
