• Need some ideas for a shooting range map

I'm gonna be making a very elaborate shooting range map for my GMod server. I've got all of kermite's guns and some others. Anyway, since I'm severely lacking in the creativity department, I need some help from you guys on ideas. I plan to have an indoor range and multiple outdoor ones, including a grenade range. I might add a bird hunting stand too, with a button to generate a bird NPC, and a moving target course. Any other ideas/suggestions for me?

I do...if you are lacking in the creative department, should you be mapping...you can't leach off other peoples ideas for all your maps.
make an npc course where a crowd of people walk past the shooters sights. the shooter has to shoot ONLY the metropolice, and cannot shoot the citizens. when a metrocop gets shot, the player gets a point. if they shoot a citizen, they get a strike. three strikes and the practice ends.
awww... man I was already making a shooting range D: Anyways.. as far as ideas go.. make sure you include a backstop and bullet blocks on the ceiling and don't forget an ammo storage room and a main lobby with a counter for buying ammo, guns, etc

After you buy a gun, it would appear in a crate behind a small door in the wall. As for the design, I'm just copying off pictures from google, so it should look pretty accurate. Ammo storage...maybe, but only if I didn't include ammo in the main catalog. I was thinking of having a grenade range, a grenade launcher range (maybe those two together? completely different distances though...), a sniper range, a duck hunt range (press a button to generate a bird NPC, but without that damn dog laughing at you constantly), and a moving target training course, like in America's Army 3. Maybe some other things too?
Here's some ideas: - Skeet shooting (use a func_conveyor or whatever to shoot a melon in the air) - Make sure you have like a paintball-type arena, an indoor one would be awesome if done right - A shooting range where you can use buttons to set the distance of the target (I think you can do this with func_tracktrain) - First aid room with health packs and chargers (I think you can set trigger_hurt to a negative value to make a giant health charger)

I could combine that with the duck hunt thing and just have two buttons, one for a bird and one for a skeet. Paintball arena. You wanna do it? I'm not gonna do it right, trust me. Adjustable targets is a great idea, I'll use that. First aid room I can do too.

Uh I don't think hammer can run lua scripts.
Load the gmod.fgd and you'll get an ent called "lua_run" (or something similar) to use.
