As the title suggests....is it possible to play a video on something like the breencast screen in hammer and export it into map? if not is there anykind of workaround?

Although Garry took out the option to export to hammer out of Garrys mod. You can make the entire scene in Hammer itself using a series of scripted sequences and cameras.

Either lua, animated texture, I don't think you would be able to stick an entire movie in it, if you are asking like the cinema maps, just ask one of them.
