A city map based on Mirrors Edge, this will be alot better than the other city map I made which was all blocky and badly optimized. I plan on changing things a little, giving the map a little detail and more things to do in it plus more stuff to make it more attractive. Got some screenshots here, I put HDR on a little too high, but next time I post screenshots it will look clearer and more of an atmosphere of Mirrors Edge. Tried copying some buildings hope they aren't too bad. There will be an underground metro station but no trains will be running (no trains), might plan on making a sewer tunnel network under the city too.
Looks nice, maybe a little undetailed.
Excellent start to that map. The HDR it would be good :-). Sorry for my bad English.
It looks a little chunky and mismatched. The grungy textures don't really look like they belong up on that roof and every architectural bone in my body is telling me there's something seriously wrong with that black trapezoid gherkin building.

NICE! I'm a fellow mirror mapper here. Must say, you have done your homework. It looks very good at this stage. But keep working on it (I wanna play this!)
Am I the only one who thinks this looks horrible? I mean the HDR is eye blinding, the buildings don't match up to the artstyle as well as they could and everything is just so blocky, and even then the crane is the only thing that remotely represents "detailed". Horribly blocky. Don't want to come across as a dick but jesus christ, at the very least tone down the HDR.

I didn't have the chance to make this map thus far, so I will try my best to add alot more in the course of the next few days, providing screenshots. There may be a few drawbacks in my map such as the HDR, if the problem with my HDR persists, I will have to make the light environment so that it will look similar to HDR but not bright, who needs HDR anyway, it will only improve the overall appearance of the map and the atmosphere it will have. Now that I am back on track with my map, though other people are also making similar maps with similar conventions. It is safe to say I will be releasing the version of the map I deem suitable to play in a few days - until the map is fully finished and uploaded. As an improvement, I have got rid of the building that was strangely shaped and replaced it as a hospital, this map will be suitable for RP, Sandbox, perhaps GPK (Gmod Parkour) or just to mess about in.

I have made alot of progress since I last posted the first screenshots of my mirrors edge-like map, I decided to give it a mirrors edge look with the lighting and other stuff, the blank parts of the map have yet to be done and filled with skyscrapers, low rise buildings and some shops, hotels and stuff like that. It can be made so that it can be suitable for parkour and rp. Some doors to the buildings you see will be made so that you can teleport to the top of them whenever your in the parkour gamemode, there is also a sign saying "Parkour Practice Area", this area will be filled with training grounds, high rise buildings in a grid-like formation and plenty of space to run around in. Unfortunately, I will not be revealing a link for the map just yet, maybe when I have added all of the buildings, the map is fully optimized, and if any changes made the lighting is required then that will be done also. I have made the decision of not making a train service which runs through the city, it's sole purpose is for appearance and give the map a city-feel. You might notice some slight texture misalignments in the screenshots, I was just rushing through the textures and it got a little messy, this will also be cleaned up before I release a test for the map.

Can we have some regular old sunshine?
Although I have it all planned out, i'm just wondering if this lobby for my mall entrance is a good design? If I were you I'd make a few individual buildings with the texture pack posted above before trying to make a whole RP map. Also, as others have said, that green lighting looks totally unnatural, try looking at this: [url]http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Sky_list[/url]

First batch of screenshots had problems such as HDR, badly shaped buildings, quite blocky and a bit dull and empty. Second set of screenshots had bad coloured lighting, negative feedback, map not even half done. Apparently the third set of screenshots has a minor drawback which is the map seems to be fullbright. Don't worry I will try and fix it ASAP. I wont be releasing this map for download just yet, so just be patient those who want to play this. I have added a few details in, I will only put the buildings details, adverts, doors, teleports, interior lighting on when I make it the final compile and only then shall I release v1.
