Hello everybody! The third and fixed version of my stargate flatground is here. Now includes map icon! It works with the aVons beautiful stargates. It contains 4 worlds: Stargate Command (SGC) Base Flatgrass Flatsand Flatsnow [B]Features:[/B] 1. Working Elevator. 2. 4 Different Worlds. 3. Armoury (No weapons though). 4. Looks good....Is the prison supposed to be for something like jailbreak?

Quite cool. Like the UAV bay, kinda sad that I found out you can't send them through the gates though :(
Yea, I don't know why, maybe I could name them in hammer on something and then make a lua script, but you can teleport them using the ringtransporter! :P

It's cool, but replace the flatsand, grass and snow with some places instead. Like Grass worlds, Desert world and a snow world.

It's supposed to be a flat surface so people can build everything in there. So it's kind of stargate buildmap, just like gm_flatgrass without the sgc.

how big are the grass sand and snow places? i think you should stack them and make them as big as the hammer grids allow :) (unless they already are)
No they are not. The thing is that it would make the compilation time too long. For that what I've already done, it takes about 12 to 15 minutes to compile it. And yes it is not as big as hammer allows. But it is a good advice, maybe I'll do that: sgc_flaground_huge. But if compared to the gm_flatgrass, I'd say its about half of that, or maybe more, but not bigger or as big as the gm_flatgrass.
How do you make multiple places, all with a 2D Skybox? I tried but I failed. And could you send me the plans for your SGC? I would like to build on it so I could make a HUGH SGC... I would obviously give you credit of course too... I understand if you don't want to though...

Wow, those look totally awesome! Keep up the good work! I always wanted to make my own kind of Stargate Worlds but never knew how. Could you tell me how to get more then 2 worlds into 1 map?
Actually, I didn't make those layouts. But it's easy to make more than 2 worlds. I'm not sure if I'm good enough to explain it. The thing is that the worlds you want to make have to be in their own skyboxes. The SGC should had one own skybox surrounding it, but you don't have to do that, since you can't see outside of the SGC nor there isn't any water in the SGC. But then what I did, there is 3 flatground worlds, and each of them has their own 3 different skyboxes surrounding them. Don't put the SGC above the other worlds because then you can see the SGC through the skybox, put the SGC below the other worlds. The easiest way to make a skybox is to make it as big as you want as a cube or something and then when it is surrounding everything you want and there is enough air space, then right click it with your mouse and select the "make hollow" option and then I guess the number "2" is the best width what you should next type to the field. I use the number "2" because you can't type number "1". I hope this helped you. [B]IMPORTANT:[/B] I noticed I put the wrong version to the internet. When you play this map for the first time you must type to console: "buildcubemaps" It will stop the lagging and make few materials look better. You only have to do it once!

Ok, there is the alarm inside, but how to turn it off? Why do I need to walk up to the gate to dial it?
If you plan on making another version, or fixing a few bugs: The Glass around the command center, shatters very easily, which isn't what one would expect from Bullet Proof Glass (I threw a container at one and it broke...) You have to use stopsound to stop the alarm. The Prison keyboards to open/close the doors are also deletable, while the alarm ones are not. Also can you stop making it so we have to unlock a door to walk through it, make the keypad lock it, but have it default to unlocked. Give us builders some build space within SGC too, aside from the UAV bay. Add some things to the doors that don't open, maybe a med bay, or like I suggested above, to add a building bay. Also the top of the elevator, that corridor is blocked if you open the door on the side of it. Also if you could; mark the buttons, just put a small sticker or something that says "Side Door Controls", "Alarm/Lockdown". Also have a way to trigger the alarm without triggering a lockdown. (Maybe even have it so we can wire it up to do it automatically if a incoming dial happens)

[QUOTE=Ghostfox;14301477]You can dial the gate by pressing "use" button infront of the gate.[/QUOTE] I know, but its annoying if you lock down, having to noclip or run back, a temp fix is to use a mobile dnd but it does get slightly annoying. xP Also, if I'm not mistaken, in SG they could dial the ring from inside the control room ^^ EDIT- As for the door thing; You have a few doors you have to "use" the keypad near by then open the door, I was suggesting just switching it from being locked by default (Hence having to use the keypad then open the door), to unlocked by default.
You wouldn't happen to feel very friendly and release the SGC in it's own VMF? *puppyeyes* More on topic, I love these maps, even though I find the flatgrounds a bit boring... I know the points of the worlds are for it to be building grounds and such, but since we actually have the finished SGC already... can't you make some interesting terrains and such, which makes them a bit more fun to explore and build on?
I made this map because I wanted an stargate map, and I wanted too a big area to build. We have already got some suggestions about other map without flatsurfaces. And we are planning to make one. Where do you need that vmf anyway? I am making a more detailed SGC during this time, but I have been quite busy. And I have to tell everybody who have been waiting for the new version, that because I have been busy I haven't even started to make the new version.
