I'm recreating Half Life for funnsies and i need a bit of advice;
(Theres really not much to look at yet)
http://img28.imageshack.us/i/halflife10000.jpg/
What can i put on the ground of my map? (In half life the floor is just black, life i've done it)
http://img3.imageshack.us/i/halflife10001.jpg/
What can i put on the walls and tunnel of my map, to make it look better? (In half life, the walls are blank)

Thanks in advance.
pics broken, and you spelt "ground" wrong.
In more "creative" criticism than above (i also recommend using imageshack to upload pictures) you should place lots of crates on the ground (or piping, depending on the area) as was done in half-life in the storage complex. Also think, what would a research facility with all that free unaccessible space want to put down there? Delicate machinery? Ventilation system? Who knows.
If the space is accessible then i recommend breaking it up into maybe two floors e.i. a big dip in the floor filled by pipes, then covered by a grate... think bunker.

OK, I'm putting some machinery, crates and venitilation down there. Thankyou Magman.
Also, I did use imageshack, I don't know why it's not working.

It's a typo. Clearly.

And if you look at the image links, you will see that they are hosted on imageshack. However, for some unknown reason they aren't displaying. Check that the link is correctly pasted.
Blackmesa flooring is a mix of solid concrete floors, solid metal checkboard plate, and a mix between checkboard and grates. Vents and assorted machinery line the walls. Remember that no area is complete without clutter. Mugs, assorted food, chairs strewn around. It may be a lab, but people work there, not machines. It should be neat, but not surgically clean, unless it is in a "clean" area in which decontamination airlocks are used.
For the tunnel you need to add the track down the centre. Use a darkend concrete that looks clean, but worn. I've always envisaged the walls to have been made from poured concrete, not built from blocks. The tunnel system also makes use of blast doors, maybe add one of those. Lights need to be added as well, something with a yellowish hint should work well.

Are [(slash)media] tags not working? btw?
I'll post a link to the vmf of my version of black mesa that took me around 6 months. It's got quite a few varied techniques that i learnt to build the map. It may help you a bit.

Make a small intersection for vehicles to be driving around down there.
Use photobucket, imageshack is laggy as hell.
I think the bottom should be a mix of sludge and trash. I know its not black mesa-ey but still

I completely forgot that in one part of the tram ride a cargo vehicle makes the train stop as is passes by until i read this :v: Do that.

Unless you'd prefer the vents/piping

Imageshack SUCK!
Imageshack has never lagged for me nor has it ever let me down to upload an image or gallery in the time i needed, you have no reason to say it sucks unless you can support unbolded EVIDENCE!
Wheres the ground ? You meant ... that beton floor ?
