cant get hammer to work

Hey guys, Is the hammer Tool the only way of editing maps?
It keeps crashing for me, And I cant get a chance to actully use it..

Editing maps?

If you decompile a map to edit it, you will find they often have issues and crash on launch.

If you are actually making a map, then tell us the error and your pc specs, and perhaps we can help you

Try launching it from its directory. You can find this by going to [B]My Computer[/B] and searching for [I]"hammer"[/I].

You'll probably get numerous results named hammer.exe. Choose the one with the directory of the game you want to map for.
For instance:

[I]hammer.exe - - - - - - - (C:/Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Half-Life 2)[/I]

Create a shortcut, for easy access.
