So im trying to modify a map that has been already made. and yes the author has given permission. ANYWAY i keep getting this stupid error and idk how to fix it. iv looked around and no matter what i cant fix it. all iv done is added a little base that's it. could someone please help. When you say the author gave you permission, do you mean they gave you the vmf? Or did you have to decompile it?

You should probably learn some basic rules of using Hammer before you make/edit maps. It's not a stupid error either, since if it didn't show any error then you wouldn't have the faintest clue what is wrong.
You didn't look that hard I think. https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Leak
As he said, the compile log shows a leak.
Entity func_door (1961.97 4216.00 -1496.00) leaked!
So go to those coordinates and see if the func_door is protruding beyond the sealed map.
Start with some basic mapping tutorials first before creating a big project. I know how much it sucks hearing that when you already have an idea in your head. I'm guilty of starting way too big projects that i'm capable of doing all by myself too. But if you can't even notice a simple leak error in the compile log, I highly doubt the rest will be easy, or even playable. Best thing is start small and do youtube tutorials.
So go to those coordinates and see if the func_door is protruding beyond the sealed map.
Id go there if i knew how to use coordinates on Hammer. and no im aware of the leaks. i keep finding them when i try and compile the map. but this hasnt happened on just this map it has happened on other without the "Leaks" Like i said this isnt my map and the leaks im finding is from the map already without me touching it.
too many t-junctions to fix up! (3834 prims, max 32768 :: 65556 indices, max 65536) Description: (from Jeff Lane, Valve) "VBSP does cleanup of edges where func_detail geometry meets world geometry to avoid getting visual cracks. One of the ways it does is this by elminating t-junctions. It sounds like you may have hit a limit of the number of those cleanups in the level. Solution: If that is the case, you could fix the problem by reducing the number of func_detail brushes in the level, especially ones that touch non-detail geometry. It's probably a sign that you have too much complex brush geometry in the level, and would benefit from having some of it be model geometry instead." It is worth noting that func_brush geometry does not perform the same fix ups on compile. Turning some of your func_detail geometry into func_brush geometry may solve this error. The error message shows you that you have 3834 primitives (max 32768 causing all of this, resulting in 65556 t-junctions (max 65536)
I can only speculate that if you acquired the vmf by decompiling the map, the decompiler in question broke a lot of the faces up and created too many brushes on func_detail entities and the faces they meet. The original map wouldn't have compiled if you're using the vmf the mapper used to work on it and he got this error, so I'm willing to bet it's a pretty solid guess that you decompiled it from the bsp.
FixTjuncs... Too many t-junctions to fix up! (3834 prims, max 32768 :: 65556 indices, max 65536) I fixed the leaks now i still dont understand whats going on.
This error appears when the map has too many func_detail touching world brushes. There's 3 ways I know to fix it. 1º Don't make everthing func_detail, only complex geometry and detail brushes that not seal the map. 2º Make a 1un space between a func_detail and the worldbursh (e. A Column and a Wall) 3º Adding "-notjunc" command line to the VBSP telling to NOT fix the "TJuncs". (Expert Compiler)
Error: displacement found on a(n) func_brush entity - not supported (entity 4860, brush 0) Find that displacement and turn it into a world-object again by using a menu you can find on the right I think? It's been some time since I've used this program, but I know that error stops the rest of the compiling from finishing properly
That's bizarre, I can't see the original mapper tying an entity to a displacement face either...
So i removed the 2 displacements... now i ran into another problem!
rp_central17_v4_d.vmf
decompiled map stop trying to recompile it, get the original vmf from the author.
If he has the original vmf, and you got his permission as you say you did, then you really should just get it as those here have recommended.

What decompiler did you use?
Probably vmex.
Yea but i also added one of the owners of the other map i wanna work on and im waiting for them to accept the request so i can talk to him.
I thought you said you had permission already in OP?
Like i said. different map
