I want to place a prop_door_rotating in my map, but give it a custom texture. I have already edited the vtf to how I wanted it, but now I just want to know how to get hammer to compile the model in my map with the custom texture that I have made.
If the model only uses one texture by default, then use the material override keyvalue.
The model I am trying to add my custom texture to originally has multiple skins because it's a door, and I don't know what a keyvalue is.
A keyvalue is one of the properties to an entity. Like when you click on it and edit the specifications of the model. Look through the skins in the model browser and see if yours shows up.

I don't mean how many skins it has, I just mean how many base texture sheets the model uses at any one time (which is probably only 1).
