Need help making a turn for an arch... description inside.

So what I am essentially making is an exposed sewer pipe that turns. I remember doing this in the past, but I haven't mapped in a long while so I am learning the most basic crap again.
Here is essentially what I'm trying to accomplish: http://img3.imageshack.us/i/dumbquestion.jpg/
I think that should explain what I want to do.
I would appreciate help on this, maybe a diagram describing how to do it, or a point in the right direction.

Something like this.
Basically, get a pipe, cut it down, then clip it so it's a section, like in the picture, then copy-paste it, rotating it as you do.
It's hard, time consuming, but looks pretty good when done.
Hope this helps... Which it proably didn't.
Torus tool? It can make pipe like things with curves in fairly easily.
Could you just clarify the picture a little?
Not quite sure what you mean when you give the example and say 'cut it like this so it fits the 90 degree angle.
I may have found a way to do it- essentially tracing the outer edge of a spike, but right not it does not look very good.

Nope, the way I tries failed spectacularly, so I am still open to suggestions.
Seriously, try the Torus primitive, it might take some tweaking, but it can make curved piping.

I'm not trying to make curved piping- tying to make an exposed pipe the player climbs out of though.
In all honesty, it would be better as a model. Using sloped brushes at funny angles is going to lead to rounding errors (among other things) and look generally terrible.

Yeah, I rejected that idea in favor of something hopefully more interesting.
