Hi.
I'm looking for a temporary mapper for hire. For an experienced mapper it should be a quick turn around.
Your free time is important, and if I was to see this thread to help another I'd like to know what past work they have done. So for me I've done short 'Machinima' films for a good 7 years in my own time, I also do this professionally for the film/game industry but this will be the first SFM I will be adding to my list. Just so you know it's not a throw away. You can check out my previous work here if you would like:

As for the map, I need it based off a large space hanger/dock. I have reference pictures just to get you started:
1. Without the cages. Take note of the shape and curves of the structure, how it dips in to give it a 3D effect and not a flat surface, the depth of it is what i need. Also take note of the color pallet of the set. As for the crates on the ground I can add those in SFM.

2. 'Space' - this can be a full bright green screen. The ceiling of the hanger, take note on what is shown in the ref, deep space, hanging cranes/lifts, mainly servicing equipment (models from CSGO might be good for this?)

If you're interested I'd love to hear from you and talk to you further.
Thanks.
Welcome to SFM! Just wanted to let you know in case you didn't already that the potentially better alternative to mapping is simply modelling the hanger and bringing it in as a prop. It can give you more options along with proper SSAO on everything (brushes don't do AO properly). In fact I did this for an SFM project:

Everything is scene-built with props in a dark void type map, all the lighting done in SFM etc...
However that being said if you want a real-time reflective surface then that only works on hammer brushes (as far as I know). So it all depends on what you want, but modelling as opposed to mapping the majority of the hanger will most likely give you a better result visually and SFM can handle quite a large number of polys so there's no need to limit yourself with the details of the hanger. I suppose you could always just do the floor plane in hammer for the reflections and then do the rest of the hanger as a prop, although you'll loose contact AO on the floor which is part of the reason to do scene-building in the first place.
Also not entirely clear on what you meant for the fullbright green screen map but I made a few large color void (largest possible map size) maps with unlit materials for the walls. You can grab them here: http://puu.sh/8vFu8.zip
You'll also need DazMatze's green screen panels installed as that's what I used for the textures: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=186065555
Good luck!
Hey!
Thank you for your reply and advice Palmlix.
Awesome work on those pictures! - Have you finished the project for the SFM in question?
Oh man did everyone that was a PHW mod get a cool job in the games industry?
Anyway yeah hit me up on steam, I did a lot of props and set work for the above project, most notably the shuttle and cargo containers in those scenes. We can talk brass tax there, I'd love to at least catch up and see what you've been doing since WotS.

Thanks! I can't take full credit for the images, it was a big team effort as Lt_C already spoke to and others as well. I did do the lighting and color correction however which I'm fairly proud of for those shots hehe. Yes the project is finished, it was a 25 min sci-fi film for Oracle software promoting their cloud services. They're currently showing it at various venues around the world so it's not online yet though I imagine it will be eventually. However I'm currently working on a big 5 minute trailer which hopefully will be out within a month or so.
This is the current trailer for it though keep in mind it's quite old, most of the footage in there was still WIP and has since been re-worked/re-rendered: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4yX8-r-GnM
Oh wow! really impressive. Great job to all involved!! I look forward to seeing the final :) - Thanks for your advice all and replies, I have a few responses so I'm all set!
