I have an problem with props, i have made a series of fences, prop_static ones.. BUT they blocklight.. any way to let light trough?
Are you compiling with -StaticPropPolys? Also, there is a keyvalue for disable shadows, change it to yes.
Are you compiling with -StaticPropPolys? Also, there is a keyvalue for disable shadows, change it to yes.
Ah, i did not have -staticPropPolys on, lets see if it works..
Actually what that does is cast lights onto the brushes, I was helping debug. Just use the keyvalue and it should be fine.
One more question, I have an door ( made of brushes ) but light slips trough on one of the sides, VERY annoying.. any tips?
Use a block light texture inside your door. (i.e. Make another brush with the texture, not texture one side of the door.) Source doesn't fully have dynamic lighting. (yet!) Unless you want to use an env_projectedtexture, but its very resource intensive, and not really necessary.
If they come out with dynamic lighting I'll need to buy a new computer. I do think they could do that within the next few productions, assuming they don't go bankrupt and die. (Blasphemy?)
They will probably have it to where you can change the dynamic lights. Valve wont forget about us low end users that easy. Honestly, my graphics card can handle it, but my CPU can't, my poor 1.6 dual core. :saddowns:
With that logic I should be playing L4D2 on low quality. My graphics card may get a little depressed, but I got a tri core. >:D
