• HOM Effect in Water from Flashlight

To keep it simple, I built a shallow pond for a park area in a map I'm making. The water is made out of 32 (I think) triangles from the arch tool. All nodraw except for the top water texture. At the moment I'm using nature/water_lowmurkyref. When I look at it, it's fine, but when I turn on my flashlight I get the same effect you get when you look the void. Is this a normal un-fixable glitch? Or am I doing something wrong. I was thinking it might be because of the sheer mass of brushes and size of the pond, so I might try it with one 32 sided brush. Anyone else get this?
Most maps have this. I don't think you can do anything other than switching the texture.
My brother got this when he was trying to map...except he was trying riverbed_1 and I told him to use riverbed_2 and the problem was resolved.

It happens with most textures even in ep2.
