Where do i put my custom textures? (i don't have halflife2\hl2\materials)

Like the title says, i'm trying some custom textures, but i can't import them into hammer, because i can't find halflife2\hl2\materials.

Do i need to make it?

Run HL2, then put the materials in after you close the game once it loads up.

if you are running ep2 or another config, put it in that game's materials folder.

Otherwise, load hl2 up to the main menu once, then exit, the folder should exist.
