I've worked my ass off on this map to get it looking right. This map was originally just going to be a preview for my models and materials, but it looked nice so I though I would finish the map and get it looking all nice for the community.

If something looks wrong in the house that I may have missed, please let me know.
Hmm.. Nice !!
Light_spot, motherfucker, do you use it?

For the skybox streetlights, yes. For everything else, no. I really wish I had remembered to use it.
Then make it ! And also, there is no light source at the last screen

Oh shit, I never noticed that. I'll fix those and try and mess with light_spots to achieve better effects.
Nice one man. I guess I'm going to head off and play the Sims 3 in a little while now, though. Now I really want to play the Sims again.
The toybox version doesn't seem to load completely for me. It stops when loading is 95% done.
If the house were anything like the way I played Sims, the house would be one-story, no doors, floor covered in rugs, fireplaces, ovens, and fireworks everywhere, full of NPCs.

I always built those two story masterpieces with a hallway overlooking the bottom half of the house. I spent more time creating houses than really taking care of my Sims.

Delete it from your toybox folder and try again. I don't know what's wrong if it does this multiple times.

Same thing happens with the one downloaded from garrysmod.org, too. I'll see if redownloading from toybox will make it work.

I redownloaded the map. Still doesn't work for me.

Oh wait, as I remember, some maps don't work for me until I load a simpler map like gm_construct before I load the map I want. Try loading a simpler map and then loading mine. I have no idea what causes the problem.

It works now. Thanks
I've only had Sims 2, but I've got this urge to play it again. Excellent job on the map.
Looks very nice. Have my download:smile:
Looks like I'm in an AP class this year, so updates to this map might take a while. Oh well.
A tip. If guns appear white on this map like it did for me, just type "mat_specular 0" in the console and wait a bit. It will restore the colors.
I did this two times. Now they stay corrected.
Map looks very good Corey Faure. Above normal GMod standard. I love it:rock:

Or if the guns are appearing white you can tell the lazy ass mapper to throw a damn cubemap or two into the map to actually have working reflections instead of lowering the quality overall.
I love the details in this, amazing. Excellent job, mate. ;)

There are env_cubemap entities placed in every room, each set for 256*256 with buildcubemaps already run. I even used impulse 81 to test the cubemaps. Something that many people realized here is that ALL HDR maps tend to effect specmaps in weird ways.
You should remove the roof
Great... now i have to go reinstall The Sims xD... awesome map.
Looks like Garry's Mod has switched to the Sims 2 engine.
Fan-fucking-tastic job.
This made my GMOD Crash? can anyone maybe explain what happend?

You need to first load gm_construct, disconnect and then load this map to avoid crash.
Extremely odd bug, but there it is.
