Im sorry for the huge pics!
Those are some fantastic textures :v:
Francis: Groovy!
Those rails on the stairs are WAY too thick!
Thanks! I will fix the railing!
The rooms are massive, they need to be smaller.
The hand rail is really blocky. Re-make it using smaller brushes and prop it.
That ceiling texture is hideous and wouldn't be in a house.

And me. Super late.
Could you recommend a texture because i cant find a good one? I could also make my own but i dont know what kind would be good!
Just look on cgtextures.com for a plain white plaster.
I made a new ceiling! With a Border!

Much better! I love it! It's just too bad that HL2's props are so dull.

Yearhh... i actually used some custom props i found on garrysmod.org
that walpaper combined with the props makes it look more 50's/60's
think retro, david bowie etc
more along the lines of the last shot in the first post
Does anyone have any suggestions to what i might make? And also a name for the map! :)
gm_70s?
My only complaint is the pale lighting. Give it a more warm tone and maybe add some contrast through colour correction or something.

gm_retro
Quite obviously!

lol the radio and telephone are floating. Also, do the wall textures have bumpmaps? You should add some. Add more realism.

The wall texture from the first pic is just superb! Well done.

Thanks!
Awesome but it looks tooooo sweeet... that sweet that it looks not realistic. Who has sucha tapestry in whole house ? Kinda strange
I've got wallpaper like that under what i've got on my walls at the moment :-/
You should put a support beam across the celing where the kitchen floor tiles meet the dining room carpet, that will suggest that the wall has been knocked out - otherwise it's a bit of a precarious bit of architecture!
Looks awesome though!
Deep, clashing mahogony was the 70s thing I seem to recall.
Oh, and what's a 70's house without excessive use of dimmer lightswitches!
(I didn't see the new celing screenshot and was about to point that out, but you pretty much nailed it in one with the texture you chose)
You should switch the color of the door and window frame to brown instead, just like the 70's
BTW This is released! http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=919752
