• Displacement edge abutting multiple other edges.

I'm trying to make a simple sub-divided tunnel and I get this error when I try to compile: "Found a displacement edge abutting multiple other edges." I've never had this error before and I'm making my tunnel the same way that I have always done it; I've started a new map and made one section of a tunnel, subdivided it and compiled with the same error. What the hell is going on? [EDIT] I figured it out, apparently the new engine doesn't treat the displacement tunnels the same way as the old one did back when I made cave maps for the ep1 engine; it was a leak basically.

Urgh... Try recreating the base brushes. Try making the brushes thicker (?). Make sure they're not functions (as in func_something). Change the way the brush edges meet. [editline]12:17AM[/editline] Have you tried just starting again?

[QUOTE=evilmeow;21822890]-Edit-[/QUOTE] Its -snip- And you shouldn't edit your posts if you solved the problem cause if somebody had the same problem as you, they can look at the thread and know what not to do.

Usually occurs when you have two solids displaced and sewn, but one of the solids has a vertical side inadvertently displaced as well, sharing an edge with the sew line. Its really not to big of a deal to just type an explaination for a fellow, rather than always rudely redirecting people to google and interlopers. It's not like typing is a lot of work and most of us could have offered solutions to his problem without discouraging him from interacting with our community any further.
