All im asking is what game do you use as a base? Half life 2? Half Life 2 Deathmatch? Counter-Strike? What?
You can pretty much use any game you want as a base as long as its content is mounted into GMod.
Although Half Life 2: Episode 2 and Counter Strike: Source are recommended.

If you're using the Orange Box engine, use HL2:EP2. For the Episode 1 engine, use CS:S. If you don't have these, you can use whatever game you please.
Yes you could use HL2:DM. But you should use CS:S or Ep2 if you have one of them.
