• [Dota 2 Authoring Tools Alpha] Displacement tool not working, wat do?

So as the title says, the displacement tool doesn't want to work for me in the new Source 2 version of Hammer. I know that it works for others (they have posted screenshots of sculpted displacements within the new editor) but I can't for the life of me figure out the issue! I've tried (almost) everything: - Subdivided the mesh (obviously); both an existing one that was collapsed from a tile, as well as a fresh one - Messed around with the different settings on the displacement tool (strength, radius, etc.) - Created a new map and subdivided a fresh mesh. - Closed Bamboo Dock (I have a small Bamboo tablet I use sometimes) - Disconnected the tablet (if interference was possibly the issue, while using the mouse) - Tried all buttons on my mouse (I have a Corsair mouse, if it makes a difference) - Tried looking through all the hotkeys in Hammer, tested them all - Disabled/Enabled "toggle mesh subdivisions" - Deleted the hammer folder in "_toolsettings" in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota_ugc\game to reset Hammer's settings to default. No dice, whatsoever. My only known option at this point is to reinstall the tools if there is nothing else I can do apart from the above-listed things. But before I do reinstall, I'd like to think there is an alternative fix (and if it happens that reinstalling it doesn't fix the issue, then I know it's likely something unrelated to Hammer). Any help is appreciated! Edit: Just reinstalled the tools (not the whole 5.5gb of content in total, just the ~100mb of tool content), still nothing has changed. This leads me to believe that there is either a third-party interference/incompatability, or the editor just isn't 100% stable for all systems yet. Any insight is still appreciated!
I haven't messed much with displacements in dota 2 hammer, but have you tried creating the displacement before subdividing, I think I had the same issue.
All you should have to do is select the face you want to displace, subdivide at least once, and it's ready to be modified. If you're baking it or anything like that then you shouldn't be. Make sure you have the right displacement tool selected, like Push/Pull instead of Smooth or something.

Dude, that's what it was; I was baking the subdivision. I derped massively. I can't believe I didn't try that, it seems so trivial now that I think about it. Thanks!
