• City Freerun: I'd like your opinions!

Hey guys, I haven't posted here for quite some time. Some of you might remember [url=http://www.facepunch.com/threads/741507]Gm_City_Freerun[/url] from about 2 years ago, followed by Gm_City_Freerun_2 (the thread disappeared). Then I decided to work on a mod with the same style, called [url=http://www.moddb.com/mods/city-freerun]City Freerun[/url] which I have been developing on and off ever since. Anyway... it's school holidays, and I'm back into mapping. So, I'd like to get your opinions on the level design work I have done in City Freerun. looks great only the textures need some work Imo. Some cubemaps and normalmaps for instance wouldn't look bad.
There are some cubemaps, not so much normalmaps however. Thanks!
i like what youre doing with the coloured textures, keep that up. only the light spots are to bright and to white but thats not too important at this stage i know. i like the pic of that hall inside where you used the light emmiting textures ,thats looking more suiteable for this map (or neon). good luck.

It looks nice, well suited for a free-running gametype. However, I think the textures need some attention. I can understand that you're going for a theme with the dev-grids, but I have the feeling that the map would look much better with smooth painted walls, reflective metal pipes, and a rough painted concrete for the ground. DICE did not cancel it. The CEO of EA said that it IS coming, and two months ago, DICE said that they are "ready". In my opinion, they should have been ready 3 years ago, but as long as they are making it, I'm happy. There's a lot of rumors floating around that a trailer will be a at the Spike VGA's, so yeah, there's that... (crosses fingers). Once again, back on topic. Two of the maps are playable on garrysmod.org, so for a little "demo", you can play those. Trust me, these maps are good, and are only looking better.
Let's hope that ME2 doesn't turn into another Episode 3.

I hope that will give the desired luminous effect!
Definitely awesome, remember following this back months ago. Anyways, I have nothing to criticize, especially since its not finished yet.

Wow, awesome. I'm so happy that you are making progress, because it looks fantastic. Also, that elevator shaft totally reminds me of the final level when you are getting to the roof of the Shard, and that's a good thing.

Is the mod itself offering anything new with how the player is controlled? Player movement in HL2 is extremely stiff. On that note, nice work with the mapping.
