Could try displacements. Make one on the inside, one on the outside. Vertex editing is the most efficient, tidiest way to do it.
yeah i just laid it down on its sides and I see a way to vertex edit, but I wonder if theres an easier way :(
Well... You could slice it into 9 sections, each 10 degrees then rotate them and put them in place.
You can do it with "Torus" primitive.
