In Blue Portals, we have a mechanic where the player can use Portals to maneuver a stream of light through Portals and into light detection panels to activate objects in the environment, such as stairs or a door.
A week after finalizing the mechanic, the fake Portal 2 map was released, where a laser was maneuvered to extend some stairs so that the player could retrieve a cube. We felt that adapting this puzzle to match our mod would not only be a great way to train the player on how to use the mechanic, but also give a shout-out to the Source community.

clever.
Wow, cool.
Wow. That was beautiful. Where did you get the audio for the voice in the chamber?
Nice! Looks cool as hell.
This opens up a whole bunch of opportunities for new types of puzzles.
Looks like someone was thinking with portals :smug:
The mapping was done by Reepblue, textures by me, music by The Hamster Alliance.
To create the voice, we used a simple TTS program and just added some filters. And a little BING before and after it.
Added a URL to the mod's page.
Nice idea, and cool map design!
Very cool. I really liked this.
Unreal man.
Looks like Portal for Mac... wait
Still can't get my head around it, are they sprites?
Texture work was amazing. They really made the entire map work brilliant.

Most likely a custom entity that traces through portals.
Please release the music that plays in the video.
The mod actually doesn't work on Macs.
And yes, they are sprites.
And the music will be released with the mod.
And thanks, I spent a lot of time on the textures.
The stairs should have more steps.
No remove button here.
Hah, had a feeling, what gave it away is that when the player looked to the left or right, parts of the light where vanishing off the edge of the screen, something which sprites annoyingly do.
Wow, that looks amazing.
The level design was perfect.

Yeah, I wish there was a way to fix that. If there was, I would do it.
GLaDOS has a bad cold.

The Apature science test chamber protocol reminds you never to speak out against your superiors unless you come under side-effects such as: Death, Mutation, Static feeling or loss of teeth, if you have any questions please remember them for the end of the test.
That's very cool. Is the light beam a particle?
