Hey guys. I am working on another map. This time it isn't an urban map, or any roleplay. It's minigolf! It is a course I am planning out. Now, I came up with an idea last night after I started making it and decided since I am making 18 holes, I thought you guys might want to make some! Maybe something really interesting. I will make the first 3 holes. Other than that, reserve your spots!
I do have 2 requirements for your hole:
You must have quality putting grass textures. I made one if you want to use it:

Brush count: 120
Tri Count: 1500
Units: 512 x 512 x 256
Physics Props: 15
Dynamic Props: 10
Static Props: 180

Thanks for the comment! Alright. I think a rack with more is actually a good idea.

Don't let it die because someone who is nothing more than an average mapper said it sucks. Besides Cruma, he is cool.

Aright! Update time! I changed the front spheres to models. I also added some custom signs...
For some reason, the ball doesn't roll that well... Also, sorry for the bullet holes and decals.

Looks promising, but create some surroundings in the map, now it's just a tiny building
Make the giant ball model just a half sphere and have one either side of the wall. It will help with the lighting issues.
Also, Make the clubs longer. It looks like they're made for kids.

Maybe his map is child oriented.
I just made the putter models like they do in family mini-golf courses. So they can be used by children too... Also, I can do the surroundings, I just need help making some interesting holes.
If you're going for a nice look on the pillars I think theres something to do with smoothing groups.
Edit: You're using the same texture outside as on the inside... Makes it look weird IMO.
A club swep is needed.
I have never tried sweps before. If someone can help make it, I have the smd I could PM to you.

The majority of lua coders can't model, and I'm fairly sure a fair amount of modelers can't code. You'll need to find someone to turn it into a weapon model and someone else to code it most likely. Although this would be a lot nicer if you turned it into a gamemode! :3:
What does the size of the hole need to be exactly?
I think this would of been easier if we made the map for 'Zinger!'
You could change the ground texture to something more grassy. Also you could cut those golf balls in half so you couldn't see them from the inside of the building.

Also what tri-count?
And whats the size of the ball?
The ball is 1.7 x 1.3 units I think. The tri count is the triangles of the polygons of your brushes. Alright, you got hole 4 too!

Well, you need to be sure.. you can't just create holes if your not sure about the size of the ball. 1.7 x 1.3 is that even a ball? Just confused here.

Why is that?
Well, you see. The ball isn't a brush made model. It is a tiny physics model about the size of a real golf ball. xxXAcePilotXxx what hole do you want?
Update time! I cut the golf balls in the front wall in half to fix lighting issues (thanks HiddenMyst!). I also fixed the pillars. They look a 100 times smoother. I also added one more hole. There are no displacements there because I am going to make them after all of the holes are completed.
