• How to make island and forest?

Hi I was wondering how to make island and forest in source sdk? I know how to use valve hammer editor but I do not get how to do make island and forest.
Use displacements and prop_statics for trees
Post in the sticky next time. Islands are displacements. Place a bunch of brushes in a square where they will form the island. Select only the top face of each brush with the texture application tool. The go to the displacements tab and press create. Choose 3, then click on paint geometry. Raise the radius and this will increase the number of subdivisions affacted by the paint geometry tool. Click on the grid and it should raise. Select to tools/nodraw texture and place a brush for water height. Select a water texture and texture only the top face.
Well i want to make a map too, including some hills (uneven terrain) and beaches (dunno if i want a new gm_construct or rp_something)
Dont make another gm_construct, make something creative...

Only the top face should be selected when making displacements, and there shouldn't be a displacement under the brush. Just make the brush that you want to displace be the top one. :barf: Fucking hollowed skybox too.
