Reminds me of HL2 Beta.
I could tell it's alpha inspired when I saw the old Razor train!
GreenPepper is really working hard on finishing this map, it has a working razor train which is a crown to this map. Very nice work!
Find better sprites for those street lights. They are a bit too bright.

HDR hurts my eyes
HDR hurts my eyes
I'll look into it, currently been testing different lighting styles.
I love the looks of this map! Can we a have a ETA on it's release? :P
I love the looks of this map! Can we a have a ETA on it's release? :P
I am too unsure at this point, especially since there is still a lot of work to do and improvements to be made. Keep in mind, those screenshots are not final, the look/feel may change slightly or drastically by the time of release. I appreciate your concern though
The entire map looks very decent and it looks like you put a lot of effort in to it, but when it comes to the lighting It brutally hurts my eyes. The map is so freakin' dark I could barely see anything in the video. Please could you add better lightings? Just a bit. Other than that, it's a great map and I can't wait for it to be done.
The map is so freakin' dark I could barely see anything in the video. Please could you add better lightings? Just a bit.
Indeed it is, although much of the video was spent inside a tunnel (which is not the entire train ride), I am currently working on improving environmental lighting, I am not satisfied with the amount of in-use lights (power-grid would be unstable) and have changed the entire time of day (night-midnight) since the updates visible on the page. Keep in mind, when the map is finished it will likely appear darker, but figuratively speaking. In those images, the sun-angle is inconvenient to the high walls surrounded by the station. I appreciate your concerns, be sure to share any other issues/suggestions you see.
Looks good dude, going to keep a sharp eye on this map. :D
Added revision sneak-peak concept image. Introductory area is intended for industrial-outskirts of the city.
Added screenshot for recent revisions. Keep in mind, I am still working on the lighting.
For the 2nd and 3rd screens... I think you should lower the lightmap scale on the faces of the walls in that area. The lighting looks a bit choppy and weird to me, and I think it might look better if you do that for those areas. (I am aware that it uses more resources when compiling though, making the compile time longer, but if it could be done I'd think it'd look better) Looks good so far though. The atmosphere is great. (And yes I know the lighting isn't complete. Just throwing out a tip if you needed it)

Updated preview image, expect further congestion.
Oooo. The fire on the smokestacks looks good. I like the progress on this so far.
Added two additional screenshots of the same area to fill in irrelevant canal screenshots.
This is looking absolutely fantastic!
This is looking absolutely fantastic!
Appreciate the feedback  Still doing a lot of fixes/touch-ups, along with other additions, I annihilated 30-40% of the original map because I felt it wasn't working (didn't give me a dystopian'nuff" atmosphere), be sure to share any possible concerns down the road.

I love how industrial it looks. It actually captures the feeling of a dictatorship where a large group is really only being used for work which Half Life 2 didn't do as well in my opinion.

Although I will include a working factory (not just a generic metal structure with empty rooms), but with actual working machinery that one can actually operate with and also be killed by if he or she is careless enough. I have some personal references for industrial machinery as one of my own family members had a small accident which resulted in the removal of half their finger. One can only imagine how dangerous machinery would be without any form of safety regulations.
Surprised no one else has mentioned how much like The Pitt this looks. In a good way.
A good map for firefights between Civil Protection and the Resistance. Keep up the good work.
