Hi, i have spent the last hour looking through Google and so far have only found out that it is impossible to import models into Hammer (the few links i found to tutorials were dead, and the ones that worked said you couldn't do it in Hammer)
How does one go about adding custom models to a map, is there some special program to add the custom models to the map after compile?
heres a example if you are using ep2 to map then go into the hl2 ep 2 folder and put your models in the model folder and wa la
i did that but the mdl didn't show up, is there a tutorial or something?
Create a new folder in the half-life 2 episode 2/ep2 directory named "custom". Drag all the model files there. Restart Source SDK. And if you want these custom models embedded within the .bsp, compile the map. Download VIDE, open up the .bsp, auto scan it, select all the custom files picked up, add, apply, and save.
Pretty much a shortened explanation, but that sums it up.
Models go in certain folders you know.
Hi, I have a similar question, I have been unable to add any models to Hammer, I would like to add a StarGate model from GMod, but I'm unsure which file to use and where to put it. I have to new version of Hammer and Steam, it doesn't look like any of the other tutorials, instead of picking the engine there is only Source Engine 2009 and HL2 for current game. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
