The map has been released! The map is based on the town Threed from the game Earthbound, you can see it for yourself here: [URL]http://www.snesmaps.com/maps/EarthBound/EarthboundMapThreedBG.png[/URL] I decided to choose Threed since I loved the eeriness of ch_laboratory and ch_happyhappy, and the openness of ch_tazmily, so think of this as those maps thrown into a blender. The map is mostly made out of brushes, but I know how to model so certain areas will use models for decoration, you can see in one of the screenshots below there is a bland white circus tent: [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/qGbDf.png[/IMG] [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/6GIif.png[/IMG] [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/Huuqy.png[/IMG] [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/YTlgu.jpg[/IMG] [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/o4xGn.png[/IMG] It's a placeholder for now until I can get around to finishing the model, It would be a terrible idea to make it out of brushes. You can notice that there's a ghost wandering around in the screenshots, it's supposed to represent the Zombie Possessor (an enemy from Earthbound) At the moment it uses the ghost model from Team Fortress 2, but eventually I'll make my own model (similar to the sprite below) for it once everything else is done. [IMG]http://images.wikia.com/earthbound/images/b/b8/Zombie_Possessor_Battle.png[/IMG] It kills anything that gets in it's way, and moves through easily campable areas to keep the game moving. Additionally the Threed theme from Earthbound plays in the background accompanied with ambient noises similar to those in Ravenholm, it adds a nice touch. 2 weeks after I start an Onett map, you start a Threed map. Mine's not UCH at the moment, but I could probably make it into one if I wanted to. Looks awesome so far.
your map's coming out as serene more than eerie to me. probably because of the skybox and the whole TF2 art style.

I managed to get around to working on the map again, here's Mach Pizza and the drug store: [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/2S0zs.png[/IMG] I love how the mach pizza sign turned out, but I'm not so sure about the drug store's, though.

You know, the two alternating colors on the sign and in that order. That, or just do it the same style as the Mach Pizza sign.

Assuming you have VTFEdit installed, you can open the vtf files for the skybox (night01lf, night01rt, night01bk,night01_hdrbk, night01_hdrlf ect...) whatever the name is, and tick the clamp s and clamp t. That will stop your skybox from tiling.

That will stop your skybox from tiling.[/QUOTE] The skybox I'm using here is a default TF2 skybox, and the tiling isn't a large concern for me at the moment, as seen in this old screenshot the 3D skybox I'll be implementing will hide the broken parts of the skybox.
