[release][b]Description[/b]
This is my new map im working on for the gangwars roleplay community,
it will be a cliffsided out of city area with lots of large buildings made for
basing and to be user friendly for people of all building standards. The map
will be of a very large size and will be set in a night time theme. Players
will have the ability to base in large built up areas or be hunted
away from civilization in their small hidden bases. This map will bring
many new possibilites to gangwars including some i cannot disclose at
this time but things like cars will be a very possible idea.
It will also now require skill to fight, you dont get to camp in a alley with
your M3 out, instead you need to fight in the dusk of night and be careful
not to get assasiniated, people can also get a good choice of building's
there is not just one or 2 buildings that are good, they are made to base.[/release]

The map will be split into sections, seperated by large, sheer cliff faces
and tunnels large enough for full sized trucks to fit through. The zones are
just like the current map although they will be alot easier to describe for
directions, raiding and basing.If i wanted to tell my friend for example

it is very easy to understand and people can get around quicker.

I plan to update this with more videos than screenshots, it will be up updated
alot with new buildings, areas, bug fixes, easter eggs and so much more.
A picture has a 1000 words, a Video has a million, so you guys can stay just
as up to date as my mapping is.
You can also sometimes find me doing livestrean tutorials and just mapping on
weekends, i will just leave the feed running all day and a new thread will be
posted when i am live and not. So i hope to see a few of you there at least.
I have 8 videos to date posted here and on youtube. 7 of them are of the map
and 1 is of a trainstation that may or may not be added to the map for easy transport.

I will be posting dates and stuff here for upcoming events and process,
not much explaining needed, you aint all Monkeys. So here is a few bits of info:

This is not a final date and i plan to finish around this time if all goes well,
i may even finish earlier. So please dont complain if this changes.
Other dates and things will be posted here, like first beta testing and when it will go on a server.

Displacement work is crappy, map is blocky, lighting is shit, also don't post WIP threads just post in the map pimpage.
Im still working on the displacement.
It is not a final Compile and its not that blocky.

Not a final compile is not an excuse, along with this is my first map, either map properly or don't map at all.

I did, For about 24 hours until my City was hit with this:

24 hours? Insight/the_l33t left for well over a hundred days due to training in basics and didn't make a scene of it in the mapping section.

you both really need to stop taking this off topic, take your catchup to PMS.
firstly, i'd work on using more fitting textures on those displacements in video 6, because they tile quite badly. not just that though, displacements could use shape, take a look of reference images on google and use a bigger brush size for more smooth transitions, which also could be used for the ground.
I suggest that you (op) start a new map, and focus on making it look good. I can see you know how to build stuff in brushes. What you really lack, is realism. Make buildings have windows, do not use white lights, these are just some of the things you need to improve on. By starting a new map (no need to release it) and only focus on the realism and looks of it, i think you will learn and adapt you mapping style to create more realistic environments.

Anyway, the map is blocky. You need to learn how to evenly distribute detailing and such over the area. You seem to have a lot of blank areas.
I highly recommend starting with basic sketches first, especially with a project this big. It's quite nice to have a clear list of things that need to be done, and finishing them one by one.
streetlights need a wider beam, also total white light isn't very convincing, go for that orange tint for outdoor street lights.
Also that radio tower in vid 3 seems out of place and not right, Instead of a self supporting tower make it an R-45 guyed tower and put an equipment building on a concrete pad on a gravel ground. same for the tower feet. Self supporting towers for commercial use are minimum 250 feet tall and can exceed 600 feet. guyed towers MUST be guyed at 100 ft or more, these can go up to 2500 ft.
If the tower is under 200ft you don't need a beacon on it, and does not have to be painted red and white unless its withing 1 mile of an airport.
beacon arraignment: IE: 300 foot tower (common for most communications systems) divide it in to quarters, top beacon flashes, middle flashes with top, beacon in between tom and middle is steady burn and lower most is steady burning. Guy wires are main anchored at the beacon points and aux anchoring in between those.
look up images of different ones and you will get the idea.
