I was wondering, is there a proper/best SDK to use with Gmod?
I tend to use the HL2 tools etc, but keep wondering if there is a more up-to-date editor to use that will work with Gmod. After all, HL2 came out a decade ago.
I mostly wonder, because I've used other particle editors (alien swarm) which have better control of particles, and various dev textures, such as monitors, are at a higher resolution in Gmod.
I'm approaching the end of my latest maop's design, so I'd like to jump ship to another editor if it is more up to date.
So, is there a better/best toolset to use?
CS:S has always worked for me, not sure if its newer though. Its build 6412
CS:S or SDK 2013. Doesn't matter as long as you add the content you need.
use source multitool and make a custom config for Garry's Mod.
Steamapps/common/garrysmod/bin/hammer.exe
Have all your problems solved. Works just fine and you can use your Gmod assets/textures and stuff.
It also uses custom building programs that are uptaded for the current version of Gmod.

It's fixed?
Yes since the last update.
Garry even wrote it in the changelogs. Somewhere...
Ah, ok! so, the Garrysmod hammer etc. is the most updated/best choice to develop for Gmod?
I use the Source Multi-tool, that, or Half Life 2's hammer.exe.
