• The Sims 3 Textures

Whoo boy. Bit nervous about posting this, think this is the right place and I've followed all the rules, don't post here much. So I'm not totally confident despite having read them. Anyway a while back I saw some people asking for Sims 3 Wall and Floor textures, but the Sims 3 can apparently be a total pain to rip from. According to a few of my friends who are a lot better versed in these things than me, God apparently smiled on me because not only because I got 3D Ripper DX to work on Windows 7, but I got it to work with The Sims 3 (and Dolphin, but that's not what this thread is about). So I went ahead and ripped as many textures as I could from the Sims 3. I had to use Ripper because the Sims 3 editors didn't really work well for getting any sort of files from it, like trying to draw blood from stone. Here's an example of some of the textures. They're organized rather messily, by type (Paint, Wallpaper, Tile, etc) rather than expansion pack (I didn't figure out how to sort by Expansion in game before I was over half way done) and don't have much to their name indicating what they are. They're pretty much just if they're floor, what kind of flooring and a number. Sadly this isn't all of them as when I was a little over 3/4ths the way done, it started to refuse to rip some textures. But I can safely say most of them are there and the missing ones weren't anything special. However they seem to all work fine for me.
Holy shit. This is awesome. Thank you!
nice as fuck bro.
Welp, someone finally beat my old SimTex pack. Thanks! These will be useful.
This'll be mighty useful.
Awesome job! Something I noticed after trying some, it looks like the $surfaceprop type is not set so if you use these you may want to edit the VMT to reflect what the surface it should be.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I'm glad to have contributed something useful.
Welp, someone finally beat my old SimTex pack. Thanks! Thank you, but I must say yours is organized much better.
Awesome job! I'll start working on that first thing in the morning. Thanks!
Okay I didn't see anything anywhere saying posting twice in a row was against the rules so I hope it isn't. I took wazanator's advice and added some surface props. The links have been updated. Misc didn't get Surfaceprops because there's so many different ones and I wasn't sure if I could go through them all and edit them with whatever seemed to fit best for what I was looking at. So far it's only for the floor's however since that's the most noticeable. There's just way too many wall textures for me to edit them all by hand right now like I did with the floor textures. Unless there's some way to edit multiple vmts at once or somehow add a surface prop when you're converting a whole folder in VTFEdit. From what I found there isn't anyway to do either of those things so for now it's just floors. I might get around to doing the walls eventually. But I won't be posting them until they're all done.
