You wake up to the first morning rays on the snow, setting it aglow with the most brilliant orange. The suns warmth creating a haze of light diffusing through the mist This is the feeling I set out to re-create when making this map. That feeling of waking up in the most boring and dark of seasons, Winter. Only to be greeted by the most stunningly beautiful and emotional landscape I have ever seen. The world, transformed. over-night. a Real-Life Winter Wonderland. <- is YouTube video embedding broken? I would just like to start off by saying that this map has been a MASSIVE Effort and strain on my mind. For the last few weeks it has been pretty much the only thing I spent my free-time on, (counting out school). The map went from an halfway-finished, almost unlit poorly optimized mess to this in only 18 days. This is the first time I have worked intensely towards a very specific deadline. which is what forced me to put down such massive efforts into the map in such a relatively short amount of time. It has definitely put a lot of things into perspective. Allowing me to realize that if I just put down the time and proper planning. Things that would normally take months can take weeks or even days. This is also the first map I've ever created where I documented pretty much everything by writing a log and taking overview screenshots regularly. It's been an interesting experience and, looking back on the time-lapse I can clearly see what I did right. but more importantly, what I did wrong. Overall though, I'm pleased with how it all turned out. Some more time could, as always have been spent on more polish. This is a beautiful and well detailed map. Your truly talented thanks for sharing this with us.
well done
Looks better than most if not all official cs:go maps, though in my opinion the official maps look like someone tried to beat a dead horse but yours inspires me. It also looks like it will be fun to play.
Some of the lighting looks funky and the displacements and architecture could use some more detailing and polish. Otherwise, good map. Splendid atmosphere.
Looks great, and thank you for detailing and sharing your design and brainstorming/development with us! I've been meaning to do that for a while, but I've been caught up with other things. Oh, and last image, if you can you may want to make the border between the interior and the snow a little less jagged.
