Amberville is based off a old map made for an older game, COD. I've recreated the environment from scratch, modifying the layout to be functional for role-play and soon for all other gamemodes.
I began this project as a portfolio piece for college, implementing my own custom textures/models, showcasing my work. It's been about two months since I started this environment and up until
a few days ago I got my custom models working finally. I've been making maps for valve based games since 2004 and I still find myself bound to it, choosing to work with Hammer over UDK or Crytek, must be nostalgia.

Amberville is a village set in the Swiss Alps. Because of it's access by road & rail the town is used by the German Army as a command & supply point for troops heading into Italy & Africa. The Allies
fly regularly over it on there way back from bombing targets in Southern Germany. The German command has decided it's time to install anti-aircraft equipment such as searchlights & anti-aircraft guns
to hinder the air route. The Allies intelligence has intercepted this & now must take action, deep behind enemy lines.
*Map is currently in alpha, no custom models & not fully custom textured

I have a server for extensive map testing, I thought this was crucial since I alone am unable to perfect this map to the way players would have liked it to have been (if it got finalized and realeased)

Seriously consider changing the fog colour to match the sky.
Textures are poorly aligned.
Also, place sprites on the light sources.

Roger that. Making custom sprites.
Also, when showing off a map. Max the graphics quality. People can not get a good look at a map with muddy textures.
I'd also suggest playing around with the light colours. All the interiors are lit so uniformly white
Never make your fog white.
It has been said before: make it match the sky.
Also, easy up on the fog a little bit. The transition isn't nearly smooth enough.
I don't mean to be a nuisance, but your train station is horrific.
If it's meant to be one, a platform, that is. You don't typically put overhead wire supports ON the platform itself. Plus, are people supposed to leap from the platform onto the carriage?

Theres stairs to each "carriage"
Suggestion: Remove the rain. If you want people to use this on there servers make it so its made for people that dont have the best pc too.

I've done my best to better the fps and its come a long way, its been a nightmare. But I've had that in mind since the start, the map layout is just huge and requires even more to fill up and decorate the interiors. Turn on the dev mode in hl2, turn off render entities, your fps is at max.
