• map wont open

when i try to open up this map, i get this: [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/WurkMSQ.jpg[/IMG]
If Hammer autosave is enabled, look in the autosave directory for older versions. Also look for a .vmx file in the same directory as the mapname.vmf, and rename it to something.vmf (not the same as the original map) and see if it opens. If none of these methods work, you're going to have to open the map.vmf in a text editor (preferably Notepad++) and find the offending line Hammer references to see what's wrong. If the map got corrupted during a save, there's a way to hack an end onto the file, but the map will likely have severe problems when opened again.

Tools>Options Autosave settings are under the "General" tab, which will tell you if autosave is enabled and where the path is set.
[CODE] WARNING: node without a volume [/CODE] I got this from your other thread. I had the same problem way back when I started mapping. Was not able to get the map back.
if you open the .vmf in notepad++ and go to line 144266 you might see its missing a } to close the entry add the } and save the open the vmf and compile and you shouldn't get that error
